Nidhal S. Dossary
President

Nidhal is a Chemist and he got his BA in Chemistry from the University of Toledo, Ohio on 1999. From 2000 – 2003 worked as Lab Supervisor of the Sanitary Operation Unit, Saudi Aramco then from 2003 – 2011 he transferred to Water Treatment Group of the Technical Support Division, Saudi Aramco.

Currently he is serving as the Foreman of the Sanitary Operations Unit, Saudi ARAMCO Utilities Department. Previous positions with Saudi Arabian Basic Industries Corporation. Nidhal is also the Environmental Coordinator of the Utilities Department, Saudi Aramco

Nidal Samad
Vice President

Nidal is a senior environmental scientist at Saudi Aramco. He holds four degrees: BS in Chemistry ,Lebanese University, BS and MS in Chemical Engineering , Florida Institute of Technology ( FIT) and a MS in Environmental Science (FIT). He holds 23 patents, mainly water and wastewater treatment related. Nidal has 14 years of experience with Ozone Oxidation Processes in particular and Advanced Oxidation Processes in general. He has served as a member of the Industrial Advisory Board of the Chemical Engineering Department at FIT. Also he served as an expert panel member for the development of ozone testing protocol for NSF International.

Michael Kennedy
Treasurer

Michael is a Capital Projects Engineer with Community Services Project Support Department at Saudi Aramco. Michael has a Masters in Civil/Environmental Engineering; a LEED Accreditation and is a listed Project Management Professional with the Project Management Institute. He has 17 years of professional experience in both consulting and private enterprise. The majority of Michael’s experience has been focused on the design, construction and start-up of water and wastewater treatment and transmission facilities of all sizes and technical complexity.

Abdul Hamid Mansour
Director

Abdulhamid Mansour holds a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering from Petroleum and Minerals University, Dhahran, and a master’s degree in engineering management from Northeastern University, Boston. He has attended management programs at Harvard, Wharton and the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He has worked for the Saudi Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) for 25 years and was appointed general manager for all SWCC Eastern province activities. Mr. Mansour has published numerous technical papers in different desalination and HVAC conferences. In 2003 he was elected president of the International Desalination Association (IDA) and served 2 years.

Mohammad Abdulatif
Assistant Director/WEF Delegate

Currently serving as a Technical Advisor for the Saudi ARAMCO Utilities Department. 25 years with Saudi ARAMCO Education: Associates in Environmental Management Utah Valley State University. Mohammad is the first Saudi Arabian recipient of the Water Environment Federation “Arthur Sidney Bedell Award” for his extraordinary personal service to the Saudi Arabian Water Environment Association which is a Member Association of WEF.

Subhi Aama
Wastewater Technology Coordinator

Subhi is a Sr. Environmental Engineer in Wastewater Management and Water Conservation Unit of Environmental Protection Department of Saudi Aramco. He leads the technical review of number of wastewater treatment and reuse projects for sanitary and industrial wastewater of Saudi Aramco plants and facilities for water conservation and reuse employing different wastewater technologies and equipment. He leads the EPD Wastewater Equipment Group for evaluating new wastewater treatment technologies and equipment; approves the qualified wastewater vendors to supply wastewater equipment to Saudi Aramco.
He has publications in international technical environmental and water journals and conferences; Water Research, Environmental Technology Letters, WEFTEC, Enviro Arabia, and Water Arabia. Engineer Subhi has international certification in environmental engineering as Qualified Environmental Professional, QEP. He has a master degree in Environmental Engineering and Water Resources from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, and Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering from King Adbulalziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Brett Boyd
Technical Advisor - Wastewater

Brett Boyd received a 5-year BSChE from University of Florida in 1983. He manufactured water and wastewater chemicals, performed R&D in oil and gas well drilling technologies, and spent over 20 years in R&D, designing, and troubleshooting water and wastewater equipment for municipal and industrial applications. Mr. Boyd has a number of patents and inventions in environmental, oil & gas drilling, and water and wastewater equipment fields. Mr. Boyd has been with Saudi Aramco’s Facilities Planning Department as a Planning Specialist in Infrastructure Division since 2010.


Michael Benchich
Membership Coordinator

Michael is currently a water/wastewater treatment engineer for the Utilities and Technical Support Department at Saudi Aramco. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Vanderbilt University and a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He has 13 years of experience in the field of water and wastewater industry, focusing mainly on water and wastewater treatment plant design. Prior to joining Saudi Aramco in 2011, he worked as a consulting engineer for HDR Engineering, Inc. in the United States. He is a registered Professional Engineer with the State of North Carolina, USA.

Bruno Villegas Lira
Newsletter Coordinator

Bruno Villegas-Lira is a wastewater treatment engineer at Saudi Aramco’s Environmental Protection Department. His duties in Saudi Aramco include compliance monitoring of wastewater discharges, technical revision of industrial and miscellaneous Company projects, auditor of environmental compliance and environmental management systems, among others. Bruno holds a BS in Biotechnology Engineering from ITESM (Mexico), and a MS in Environmental Science and Engineering from KAUST (Saudi Arabia). He is a certified ISO-14001 Lead Environmental Auditor, and a registered Environmental Professional Intern (EPI).

Mohammed A. Al-Hajjy
Desalination Technology Coordinator

Mohammed is a water treatment specialist in Consulting Service Department, Saudi Aramco, Saudi Arabia. Mohammed has a B Sc. in Chemical Engineering from KFUM. He has 21 years of professional experience in different departments within Saudi Aramco. Out of which 19 years were spent in water treatment and desalination facilities. Mohammed has been involved in reviewing several design packages for RO plants and water treatment programs. He was heavily involved in designing, construction and commissioning of RO Plant for Abqaiq Plants facilities. He has been involved in several troubleshooting and investigation tasks for RO plants, industrial steam boilers and water treatment programs. Mohammed is a member of Water Conservation team in Saudi Aramco. Currently Mohammed is working for Consulting Services Department, in Dhahran providing technical support to all Aramco water treatment facilities

Dr. Subhi M. Al-Jeshi
Technical Advisor - Desalination

Dr. Subhi Al-Jeshi is a water treatment specialist in Saudi Aramco. He got his B Sc in Chemical Engineering from KFUPM, Saudi Arabia, and PhD from the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences, Herriot Watt University, Scotland, specialized in water Desalination. Subhi has 17 years of experience in water treatment and desalination field. His field experience included working in different industrial locations such as Saudi Petrochemical Company, SADAF, Ras Tanura Refinery and Berri Gas Plant in addition to working for one year for VEOLIA Water, UK, designing RO membrane plants. Currently Subhi works for Consulting Services Department, in Dhahran providing technical support to all Aramco industrial facilities for more than 12 years. Subhi has evaluated and introduced many new technologies to Saudi Aramco.

Dr. Abdulrahman Saleh Abdulrahman Hariri
Dammam University Liaison

Dr. Abdulrahman Saleh Abdulrahman Hariri is currently Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Dammam. He holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from King Fahad University of Petroleum & Minerals, a MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toledo, USA and a PHD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sheffield, UK. Before becoming Dean Dr. Hariri taught in the College of Architecture and was Chairman for the Dept. of Building Sciences and Technology. Dr. Hariri also was a Saudi Arabia delegate to the Arab League committee for a Unified Arab Building Code and was a member in a national committee formed by MOWE to investigate methods of electricity peak-load reduction.

Eng. Ali Abdullah Al- Motlag

Holds a bachelor degree in civil engineering , and a Master's degree in environmental engineering from King Saud University , He is an Associate Value Specialist (AVS) .Ali has an experience of more than 26 years in the field of water, environment and sanitary engineering, his expertise is in the design, management and operation of water & wastewater treatment systems, water quality monitoring, as well as water and environment pollution control. He has many Applied Research                                       and a patent in odor control of wastewater gases.

Greg is Director of Water for AECOM’s Saudi Arabia and Bahrain operations. He has over 22 years experience in business development, project management and design, primarily in the fields of water and wastewater treatment, infrastructure planning and environmental engineering. Greg holds a B.A. Sc. in Civil Engineering from UBC in Canada, and is also a licensed professional engineer in Ontario, Canada.

Raghed Mallouhi
General Board Members

Mr. Raghed AL-Mallouhi has B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia in 1991. He has 22 years of experience in the field of water and waste water treatment. In addition, his experience convers municipal and industrial sectors. He joined Veolia Water Solutions and Technologies Saudi Ltd in 1992 as Mechanical Engineer. He is now Sales Manager of Veolia Saudi.
